Children in Distress - Avant Piano Trio

  • Foundling Museum 40 Brunswick Square London, England, WC1N 1AZ United Kingdom (map)

Antonio Vivaldi worked all his life at The Ospedale della Pietà, an orphanage in Venice, writing music for the young girls of the institute. Avant Piano Trio propose his Trio Sonata in C minor. This will be followed by the world premiere of a piece written for the occasion. Then, as a short intermezzo, a Berceuse (lullaby) by Glière, a russian composer. Avant Piano Trio will then propose two very famous pieces: Erlkönig by Schubert, followed by Brahms’ Lullaby. To end, In Memoriam, by Maurice Emmanuel.
