Riccardo Malipiero: Chamber Music (2020) [Brilliant Classics]
A recording endorsed by the Edizioni Suvini Zerboni and the Centro Internazionale di Studi “Riccardo Malipiero”. Riccardo Malipiero’s chamber music works recorded in this CD span from 1956 to 1987. Since 1946, the Milanese composer adheres to dodecaphony: he will always consider it a technique and not an aesthetic and, as such, he will make full use of it, exploring its expressive possibilities with great ingeniousness and naturalness.

Minimal Works is an album that presents sixteen minimalist music pieces by different authors, from J. Cage and G. Ligeti to contemporaries A. Pärt and M. Richter. David Collins’s Violin Sonatas (2017) [Sheva Contemporary]
David Collins had violin lessons at school, but never progressed very far, as composing began to occupy more of his time. Despite an absorbing interest in music, he was persuaded to pursue other career options; it was only later, while working in the Northwest that he decided to apply to the Royal Northern College of Music, where he studied composition with Anthony Gilbert, supporting himself by working two days a week throughout what was officially a full-time course. It is only recently that he has had more time for composing, and, having discarded almost everything written earlier, has concentrated mainly on chamber music, of which the pieces on this album are representative.
